Avondale Guest House is a mid terraced Victorian property dating back to the 19th Century which has been lovingly restored to maintain it’s warmth and character. Our individually decorated and comfortable rooms have fresh flowers and have many personal touches. We offer the perfect place to relax and unwind afer a days sightseeing, a real home from home.

All our rooms have en suite facilities, an alarm clock, remote TV, a wealth of visitor information and a well stocked hospitality tray. I am happy to provide special teas, wine glasses and cooler, just relax and leave it to us. A homely, comfortable and private retreat from a busy day out in York.

Your little ones are welcome in the family room where Spike, our adorable fluffy toy puppy can’t wait to cuddle all his new friends. There are also story books and toys in the drawer but you can just ask if you need a few more. There is a travel cot and high chair available for the youngest of our visitors.

York is a wonderful place and I have presented some of it’s history for you in an information folder together with some idea’s on where to go, what to see and things to look out for. I enjoy our city, the dales, the moors, our amazing landscape, castles and historic houses so if you would like more about places to visit when you get here just ask!
